Service Agreement

The founding plan

Founding clients keep the $59 monthly price for as long as they stay with me.

That includes:

• A one-page website built for phones.
• Hosting and an SSL certificate (the padlock in the browser).
• Uptime checks, so I know if your site goes down.
• One small edit each month, up to about 30 minutes of work. Unused edits don't roll over.

Bigger changes, like new pages or a redesign, are $50 an hour. I'll quote you first, and nothing starts until you say yes.

Paying

• There's no setup fee. Your first $59 payment is made when you sign up, before your site goes live.
• After that, $59 is charged automatically on the same date each month.
• If a payment fails, I'll let you know. If it's still unpaid after 30 days, I'll pause your site until it's paid up.

Cancelling

You can cancel anytime, just email me. There's no contract and no cancellation fee. You won't be charged again, and your site stays up until the end of the month you've already paid for.

I can also end service by giving you 30 days' notice. If I do, you keep your domain and content, and I'll give you your site files for free.

Who owns what

• You own your domain name and your content: your business name, logo, photos, text and reviews.
• Your domain is registered in your name and paid for by you, usually $10–20 a year. I'll help you set it up.
• I own the website code and design I build.
• If you want to keep the site itself, you can buy the code outright for a one-time $300. After that it's yours to host wherever you like.

Your part

• Give me accurate information about your business: phone number, services, hours, licenses and so on.
• Only send photos and content you have the right to use.
• Look over the site and approve it before it goes live. Once you approve it, you're confirming the details are correct.

The fine print

• No guarantees on results. I'll build you a good site, but I can't promise search rankings, phone calls or sales.
• Limit on liability. If something goes wrong, the most I'm responsible for is what you paid me in the last 3 months.
• Portfolio. I may show your site in my portfolio as an example of my work.
• Illinois law applies to this agreement.
